The funny side of protesting
Although their were big concerns over what Southern Water were proposing back in 1996 there is always the humorous side when coming to protesting. The famous cartoonist Rubert Besley offered his help during the campaign and drew up some great cartoons. Here are a selection of drawings by Rubert Besley and Jo Blackley that were used on banners, t-shits, handouts, posters and leaflets. One of the pictures shows Kev Goodall wearing one of the t-shits worn during the demonstration march on the 8th of May 1996 from Yaverland to Sandown Pier.
