I feel like I’m free. I’m riding the tide.
The waves chasing me to the shore.
Arms out, knees bent, water dripping down from my head.
It’s gone dark now. I’m being tumbled and rolled by these wild wet panthers,
I can hear the distant sound of voices, clashing stones and the roar of water.
So that’s a wipeout. I love it.
I can feel myself grinning, I love it.
Again! Again!
I am paddling out in search of the next powerful wave, frothing at me like a dog with rabies.
This is great. Thanks Chris

After an exhausting but great day for learning to surf Chris Mannion of Isurf does a really good job with all the new surfers. Chris says there was a lot of interest in joining the IOW Surf Club and I have received lots of good feedback from parents on how the day went. Congratulations and thanks to all involved for another very successful day.

The Sunday surf lessons saw Chris decide to teach at Compton, Hanover Point. Chris first takes them through the basics on the sand and then into the water. They all caught wave after wave, having an absolutely fantastic time. The pictures below speak for themselves.
A huge thanks from all who participated to Cathy Budden and the West Wight Landscape Partnership for organising and putting on surfing lessons with ISurf and Chris Mannion. Anyone interested in Surf lessons Chris can be contacted on 07968 609 169 or through his website iowsurf.com.

A huge thanks from all who participated to Cathy Budden and the West Wight Landscape Partnership for organising and putting on surfing lessons with ISurf and Chris Mannion.
With the strong wind and swell Chris had decided that the best and safest place to surf on the Saturday afternoon was at Small Hope Beach in Shanklin. Chris initially takes them through the basics on the sand before they all enter the water and it wasn’t long before there were hoots and high fives with huge smiles all round.
