The day after the ‘wight surf history’ project secured a permanent place for the ‘exhibition of contemporary surf photography’ in the ‘Beach Bar’ at the  Sandpipers Hotel in Freshwater Bay, Huey signalled his approval by delivering a classic run of big powerful groundswell to the bay, complimented by stiff offshore winds to put on a show of spectacular waves for local surfers.

There are two new photo blogs on www.soul-surfing.co.uk/ with heavy waves, nice long walls of water, some fine surfing (a couple of lovely relaxed backhand turns showing real grace under pressure), someone playing snooker out there, a couple of seagulls cruising the line-up, a lost paddle-boarder and a few hairy wipeouts, what more could you ask for 🙂

The swell finally said its goodbyes today, there were still a few little ones creeping through as the sun went down, but the main act was finally over and now we wait to see that the North Atlantic has in store for us next.
